What Remains… Group Show

What Remains…

How do we give form to what escapes immediate perception? Through light, landscape, memory and materiality, What Remains… explores the diverse ways artists interpret and transform their experience of the world.

Bringing together Sam Ballet, Mathieu Bonardet, Jérôme Bouchard, Denis Brihat, Jean-Baptiste Brueder, Nicolas Delprat, Laurent Dumortier, Elium, Luis Guzman, Toru Hamada, Tom Henderson, Teun Hocks, Scarlett Hooft Graafland, Danielle Kwaaitaal, Mathieu Meijers, Natacha Mercier, Bea Sarrias, Andreas Senoner, Manon Sarah Thirriot and Michiko Van de Velde, the exhibition spans painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and installation. Despite their distinct approaches, the artists share an attention to gesture, process and the relationship between idea and material.

Marking six years of the Michèle Schoonjans Gallery, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the artistic research and collaborations that have shaped its programme. The title points to what remains after the encounter with a work: a trace, a sensation or an image that continues to resonate.
