Female Pros Georgia Kotretsos | Rania Bellou | Thekla Papadopoulou | Anna Fafaliou

The exhibition, which takes place at the Municipal Cultural Center of Elefsina “Leonidas Kanellopoulos”, presents the work of four remarkable Greek female visual artists curated by the art historian, Dimitrios Spyrou. Georgia Kotretsos, Rania Bellou, Thekla Papadopoulou and Anna Fafaliou present new and older works, creating a framework within which a significant part of contemporary Greek female artistic production can be showcased.

Despite the creative and conceptual differences among the four artists, the common denominator of their practice is the critique of viewing conditions and visual perception of art and of the world we live in. Common ground for the four of them remains the evolution, the spacelessness and timelessness of femininity and the defiance of stereotypes, artistic and social, that is subjected to.
